Warren Fuchs

Warren David Fuchs passed away peacefully in the early morning of Monday, March 26, 2012 at St. Mary's Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes, MN at the age of 87. He had been a resident of the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes since July of 2011, and Manor Care Nursing Home in Fargo from June of 2010 to July of 2011.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, MN. Interment will be made at the Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.
Warren Fuchs was born February 18, 1925 in Stanton County, Nebraska. He was the 12th of 13 children born to John and Clara (Bisping) Fuchs and grew up farming with his family.
On October 28, 1951, Warren married Georgene Eleanor Severa, whom he had known since childhood. The couple made their home on a farm near Stanton, NE. They were blessed with 4 children.
In 1961, to be closer to a sister who lived on Lake Melissa, near Detroit Lakes, MN, Warren, Georgene and their family moved to a farm east of Frazee, MN, where they had a dairy and grain farm for 13 years.
Warren then went to work at the Frazee Turkey Plant for several years. After that, Warren worked for Sonset Farms owned by Marvin, Ross and Wayne Mickelson, where he worked until he retired in 1996, at the age of 71.
Warren and Georgene moved into Frazee in 1974, where they still have their home.
Warren was always an avid outdoorsman who worked hard, loved his family, and loved to hunt deer and ducks and fish for northern.
Warren is survived by his wife of 60 years, Georgene; 4 children: Walter (Renee) Fuchs of Lake Lida, MN, Cathy (Gary) Doll of Perham, MN, Clara (Loren) Coufal of Hawley, MN, and Penny Wey of Phoenix, AZ; 9 grandchildren: Amber Fuchs of Portsmouth, NH, Andrew Fuchs of Fargo, ND, Candice Doll of Ottertail, MN, Darren Doll (Cassie Ellingson) of Fargo, ND, Brandon Doll (Elizabeth Barvels) of Perham, MN, Matthew Coufal (Sue) of Detroit Lakes, MN, Mark Coufal (Becky) of Virginia Beach, VA, Miranda Coufal and Meagan Coufal of Moorhead, MN; 5 A½ great grandchildren: Isac Coufal, Mark Coufal, Tes Marie Zick and James Zick of Detroit Lakes, MN, Matthew Coufal of Virginia Beach, VA and Baby Girl Doll due in April in Perham, MN; 1 brother, Lawrence (Julie) Fuchs of Beldon, NE and 1 sister, Esther Barjenbrooke of Columbus, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara Fuchs; 8 sisters and 2 brothers.
