Steven L. Washek, 49, Gillette, WY, formerly of Frazee, MN, died Friday, September 17 at Campbell Memorial Hospital in Gillette. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 25 at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, MN.
Friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Steven Larry Washek was born September 28, 1960 at Fergus Falls, MN to Larry and Audrey (Hanson) Washek. He was raised and educated in Battle Lake, MN and then attended the welding program at the Detroit Lakes Vocational School. Steve was united in marriage to Amy Bachman, September 28, 1991 in Frazee, MN. They made their home in Frazee and he also later worked on the oil rigs near Gillette, WY. They later divorced and he returned to Gillette, WY in 2006.
Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, his motorcycle and bike riding.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Tabitha Washek of Frazee, MN and Tiffany Washek of Perham, MN, a grandson: Dominic Koski of Frazee, MN, his parents: Larry Washek of Battle Lake and Audrey Hanson address unknown; 3 sisters: Brenda Stewart of Wadena, MN, Becky Cudmore of Casper, WY and Beth Lee of Fergus Falls, MN; his former wife: Amy Washek of Perham, MN. He was preceded in death by a brother: Richard. Furey Funeral Home is serving the family.
