Russell Mostad, age 61, of Frazee, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Frazee Care Center. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2017 at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee.
Russell was born November 15, 1955 to Lyle and Donna (Johnson) Mostad in Fort Francis Ontario, Canada. He grew up in International Falls, MN, where he attended school. He graduated with the class of 1974. Following his high school graduation, Russell enlisted in the United States Army Reserve where he served for a number of years.
Russell made his home in Townsend, MT for a time where he married Kathy Dunblazer. The couple had two sons, Adam and Chris.
Russell was a jack of all trades and had many jobs over the years.
Russell made his home in Frazee in the early 1990s where he resided until the time of his passing.
Russell enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, making fishing jigs and birdhouses. He played in a band as a rhythm guitarist for several years and liked rock and roll music.
Russell is survived by two sons: Adam Mostad of Frazee and Chris Mostad of Frazee; mother, Dona Mostad of Townsend, MT; ex-wife, Kathy Martins of Logan, IA; 4 brothers: Scott, Lonnie, Ben and Chris; and 2 sisters: Sandy and Tina; along with many nieces and nephews.
Russell was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Mostad; and sister, Maxine.
