Royce Vincent Buhr, age 83, of Frazee, passed away on Sunday, August, 9th at the V.A. Hospital in Fargo, ND. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 11 at St. John's Lutheran Church Height of Land, Pastor Muehlberg officiating. The burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee.
Royce was born on May 23, 1932 to Arthur "Art" and Zeta (Wilson) Buhr in Fargo, ND. He was baptized on July 3rd 1932 in the Lutheran Church and has recently been a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Height of Land. He was raised on a farm and attended school in Buffalo, ND. He was very proud. To serve his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged.
Royce was married to Mary Ellen Pyle on September 13, 1954. They farmed near Buffalo and then moved to a dairy farm east of Frazee where they raised five children. Besides dairy farming Royce also worked for Swift in Frazee and on many construction projects in the Frazee and Fargo areas, mostly for John T. Jones Construction. During the planting and harvesting seasons he worked for R.D. Offutt and Cenex. He also mowed ditches for the Becker County and townships in the area. Royce resided on the south end of Toad Lake during his final years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and his daughter, Barbara.
He is survived by his four sons, Barrett (Mischale), Burl (Rena), Bill (Terry), Bob (Sherry), ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
