Randolph "Randy" Vernon Buck
The funeral services for Randy Vernon Buck, 93, Frazee, MN, will be held Friday May 1, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church - Loon Lake, Vergas, MN, with Rev. Robert Hinckley officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery - Loon Lake. Randy died at St. Mary's Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes on April 27, 2009.
Randolph Vernon Buck was born on October 18, 1915 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Lars and Tekla Buck. He was baptized and Confirmed in Pelican Valley Church. He attended school in Pelican Rapids and then moved to Deer Creek for a short time. Randy served in the U.S. Army for 4 years in WWII. He married Luella (Albright) Vestal in 1947 and joined St. Paul's Lutheran Church -Loon Lake shortly after. He was employed by the MN DNR for 25 years in the section of fisheries until he retired in 1980.
Randy is survived by his step-daughter Marilyn (James) McEntire; nieces, Betty (James) Berg, Carol (Joel) Jacobs, and JoAnne Moberg Connelly; nephew, Daryl (Diane) Moberg; and many cousins.
Preceding Randy in death is his wife, Luella (Albright) Vestal; and his parents Lars and Tekla Buck.
