Priscilla Tompkins

Priscilla Ann Tompkins, 74, Frazee, MN, died suddenly Saturday January 22, 2022 in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Priscilla was born in Mahnomen, MN on May 5th, 1947 to Lawrence and Shirley (Klatt) Prellwitz. She attended school in Waubun, graduating in 1965. After school she met the father of her 2 oldest children. In 1968 she was blessed with her first daughter Jackie. In 1970 she welcomed her second child, Bob. They resided in the Mahnomen area while she was a stay at home mom.

In 1981, she was blessed with another child, Gary. Shortly after Gary was born they took a long trek to California. While in California she was united in marriage with Tom Tompkins. They separated in early of 1983. Later in 1983 she found love with Randy Burrow and in 1984 they were blessed with their daughter, Nikki. In 1985, Priscilla and her children made the trek back to Detroit Lakes, MN where she continued to raise her children.

Priscilla enjoyed spending her time with her children. In 1994 she was reunited with Randy in Minnesota.  She continued to be a stay home mom and continued to raise her children in Detroit Lakes until they were all out of high school. In 2003 her love, Randy, passed away unexpectedly.

Priscilla would help anyone out in need. She would give her shirt off her back for anyone.  She loved hard and unconditionally.  Priscilla always put everyone else’s needs before hers. She enjoyed sitting at the table working on crossword puzzles and watching her soap operas. She really enjoyed watching the show Survivor. She was a true fan of that show since the day it started.

Priscilla is survived by a close friend, Greg; her daughters Jackie Haugen of Yankton, SD and Nikki(Damien) Kohler of Frazee, MN; her sons Bob Haugen and Gary Haugen of Frazee, MN;  her grandchildren Alysa(Cory), Christopher(Rylee), Tiffany(Zach), Timothy, Amanda, Camylle, and Mason; her great grandchildren Rayne, Jayden, Asher, Paisley, Logan, Brylee, Paxton, Easton, and Maysley; her siblings Betty(Ronald) Safar, Roseanne Kuehn, Sharon(Allen) Gallagher, Linda St. Pierre, Larry Prellwitz, and Barbara(Duane) Safar; several nieces and nephews.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Shirley; step dad Edwin; her brothers Richard and Terry; Sister Maureen; brother-in-law Merril; and her special friend, Randy.

There will be a celebration of life for Priscilla in the spring.
