Orpha E. Jackson, age 75, of Richville, MN, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Frontier Manor in rural Richville, MN. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home on Saturday.
Orpha was born July 17, 1939, to Ole and Mathilda (Omodt) Ostern in Spring Grove, MN. She grew up in Spring Grove where she attended school. Following her schooling, she married Eldon Thomas in 1957. The couple made their home in the Spring Grove area. Later in life, Orpha married Jim Jackson. The couple lived in Pelican Rapids.
Orpha enjoyed baking, loved flowers and gardening and had a love for animals, especially chickens and pet rabbits.
Orpha is survived by 2 sons: Dino (Linda) Thompson of Vergas, MN and Lorrie (Julie) Thompson of New York Mills, MN; several grandchildren; 3 sisters: Mary Markham of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ona (Alan) Ellenson of Gardner, ND and Carol (Leo) Felleg of Grand Forks, ND; 1 brother, Dale Ostern of Frazee, MN; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Martha Ostern of Moorhead, MN.
Opha was preceded in death by her daughter, Keri Thompson; husband, Jim Jackson; sister, LaVonne Aaron; and brother, Charles Ostern.
