Norman Emil Quittschreiber of Frazee, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 24, 2024.
He was born September 19, 1929 to Emil and Wanda (Frank) Quittschreiber. Norman attended country school in Evergreen Township. After completing school, he worked various farming related jobs throughout the area. He then at the age of 18 joined the US Marine Corps. While on military leave, he married Mildred Glander, February 28, 1952 and together they raised seven children. They established their home near Toad Lake and later purchased his parents farm in Silverleaf Township.
After retiring from dairy farming in 1990, Norman and Mildred moved to Frazee where he worked 11 years as maintenance and transfer driver for the Frazee Care Center until he fully retired. Norman loved spending time with family, his grandchildren and great grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy. He loved to share stories of his past, building bird houses and feeders. He could build or fix just about anything you asked him to. He took great pride in his gardens and flowers. He loved cooking, canning and pickling. He made the best pickles.
Norman will be deeply missed by many. He is survived by his seven children: Lois (late Larry) Isola of Perham, Lynette (Jim) Nelson of Frazee, Rene (Mike) Woodard of Frazee, Dale (Judy) Quittschreiber of Ogema, Debra (Steve) Maves of Detroit Lakes, Kevin (Kathy) Quittschreiber of Frazee and Lisa Piper of Frazee. In addition, he is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Mildred, son-in-law Larry Isola, grandson, Kyle Quittschreiber, and brother, Melvin.
