Norma J. Draack, age 85, of Frazee, MN, always loved Christmas and she was called home to celebrate with the Lord on Christmas Eve.
Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee. Visitation will be held Monday, December 27, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee with a prayer service to be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will also begin one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Norma J. Draack was born August 7, 1925, the only child of Cecil and Elizabeth (Berry) Simmons. She grew up and attended school in Dilworth, MN, graduating with the class of 1943. Following graduation, Norma gained employment at Burlington Northern Railroad where she worked until 1956. Norma was united in marriage to James Draack on October 6, 1947. They were married for 26 years. Their union was blessed with three daughters: Patty, Barb & Nancy. Norma ran the Spruce Grove Club for 30 plus years. This was a very popular dance hall. Almost everyone in Frazee has fond memories or stories they could tell about the dance hall. Norma's life revolved around family and friends and she was very proud of her family. One of her favorite things was having friends and family visit; the more the merrier in her small apartment. She loved to share a good story she had heard. Norma also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins on TV.
Norma is survived by 3 daughters: Patty (Larry) Urbach, Barb (Tom) Loeffen and Nancy (Jonathan) Hebert; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nephews; 1 niece; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; along with several aunts and uncles.
