Monty Puttbrese

Monty Dean Puttbrese (58) passed away July 25, 2015 at his home in Frazee, MN. Monty was born December 31st, 1956 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Everette and Alice (Pederson) Puttbrese. Monty married Tami JoAnne Kohler June 21, 1980 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Height of Land, MN. Later they divorced. He was preceeded in death by his Dad; Brothers: Rodger and David. Monty is survived by his Mother of Frazee; his children: Bridget Huisman, Rochester MN; Justin Puttbrese, Ottertail,MN, and Stephanie Puttbrese, Owatonna MN; Sisters: Gloria Halverson, Frazee; Phyllis Bahr, Washington; Pat Lorenzen, Detroit Lakes; and Laurette Paulson, Detroit Lakes. Brothers: Eugene (Mary) Puttbrese, Frazee and Gary (Shirley Eidenschink) Puttbrese, Detroit Lakes; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. As a young man Monty worked with mink at home and at a neighboring mink farm. He became an excellent auto mechanic and did carpentry work. For many years he worked doing barn lowering/straightening on his own and with his Dad, brothers and brother-in-law, Lloyd Halverson. He enjoyed hunting and was very knowledgeable on world affairs. He had a real heart for children and fixed bicycles and gave them free to neighbor kids. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. August 7, 2015 at Harvest Fellowship Church in Frazee, MN. There will be visitation beginning at 1 pm. Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Church of Height of Land at a later date.
