MARGARET L. ERICKSON
OTTAWA - Margaret L. Erickson, 88, of Ottawa died 5:57 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2009 at her residence.
She was born July 13, 1921 in Corliss Twp., MN to the late Leo and Bertha (Miller) Fischer. On July 7, 1949, she married Merle Erickson, who survives in Ottawa, Oh.
Also surviving are her children, Roger (Rita) Erickson of Fort Jennings, Gene (Roxy) Erickson of Leipsic, Gerard Erickson of Seattle, WA, Leon (Mary Lou) Erickson of Ayersville and Mary (Richard Stever) Erickson of Mesa, AZ; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and a sister, Florence Collett of Frazee, MN.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Caroline Brekkee and Rose Meadows; and a brother, Elmer Fischer.
Mrs. Erickson worked for the former Libby's and Allied Egry both in Leipsic, but was widely known for cleaning houses in Leipsic. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and it's Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Leipsic and Leipsic Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to auctions, garage sales and flee markets.
A mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will be Friday, July 17, 2009 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Frazee, MN.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where an American Legion Auxiliary service will begin at 6:30 and a CLC rosary will begin at 7 p.m. There will also be visitation at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, MN on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 1 to 3 p.m.
