Luella Wilhelmina Mindermann Wick, age 91, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015, at Perham Living. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, MN, with a prayer service to take place at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be made at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee.
Luella was born April 16, 1924, to Wilhelm and Wilhelmina (Beune) Minderman in White, South Dakota. In 1926, the family moved to Frazee, MN, where she grew up. For 3 years during WWII, Luella lived in Spokane, WA, and then returned to Frazee.
On October 26, 1945, Luella married Marvin Wick in Frazee and became a farm wife while raising their 3 children. After Marvin died on February 9, 1978, she worked at the Frazee Care Center for 11 years, and enjoyed some traveling.
In 2001, Luella was nominated by a friend for the Becker County Senior Outstanding Citizen award where she was described as a kind, caring, cheerful, reliable, friendly, conscientious, supportive and helpful person; always willing to help anyone in need. Someone said, "I just like her, who wouldn't"? She didn't win, but her family and friends were very proud of her.
Luella was a life-long member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee.
She is survived by her children: Gloria (Roger) Curtis of New York Mills, MN, Linda (Ray) Vogle of Fargo, ND, and Darrell (Nancy) Wick of Frazee, MN; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 brother-in-law, LeRoy Adams; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 4 brothers: Arnold, Edwin, Robert and Hubert; 3 sisters: Elsie, Ida and Hilda Yates; and 1 great grandson.
