Lilian Marie Bednarz, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away on April 12, 2025, at the age of 94 at Vikings Manor Nursing Home. Born on April 25, 1930, Lilian led a life marked by warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and church community.

Throughout her career, Lilian made an enduring impact in the healthcare field. She began her journey at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls before moving on to work at the Viking Café and The Spot. Her passion for helping others brought her to the Broen Home, and later, she lent her compassionate care to Twin Valley Nursing Home, Ulen Nursing Home, and Pelican Rapids Nursing Home. Lilian retired in 1990, leaving behind a legacy of service that touched many lives.

At the age of 23, Lilian married Kenneth Schachtschneider, with whom she welcomed her cherished daughter, LouAnn. In 1975, she found love again and married Larry Bednarz, who became a beloved companion and partner in her adventures. Together, they enjoyed camping trips in their bus, exploring the world, and forging new friendships along the way.

Lilian had a multitude of interests that enriched her life and those around her. She found joy in puzzles and gardening, often spending her time bringing beauty to her surroundings. Her love for fishing and frequent visits to the casino added excitement to her life. Perhaps most importantly, Lilian was known for her warm personality and her deep appreciation for time spent with family and friends, especially during holidays.

She is survived by her daughter LouAnn; granddaughter Heather; grandson Taylor; great-granddaughter Skylar (Alex); great-grandson Airasen; and her brother Orval Lofthus, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Lilian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Bednarz, and her sisters Edna, Gladys, Clarice, Mildred, and Evelyn, along with many other family and friends. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
