Larry Modrow

Larry Modrow, age 68, of Frazee, MN, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Funeral service will be held 11:00am, Monday, June 8, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Loon lake. Visitation will be Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church Loon Lake from 4 to 7:00 PM and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Larry Modrow was born July 1, 1951 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He was baptized at St. Mary’s hospital in Detroit Lakes, and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in 1964 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Loon Lake.

Larry was raised by his grandparents Dan and Regina Modrow and graduated from Perham High School. He continued his education at Moorhead Technical College before joining the United States Marine Corps. Larry proudly serving his country receiving his honorable discharge in June of 1973.

Larry worked at Pelican Turkey Plant, Schepper Farms, and as a beekeeper and other various jobs in the area. He was a manager at Menards, and recently was working at SJE Rhombus.

On July 16, 2008, Larry was united in marriage to Cheryl Rude. They made their home in Frazee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going camping. Larry was a wonderful wood worker and he could make or fix almost anything with his skills.

Larry  is survived by his wife: Cheryl Modrow; children: Dan (Amanda) Modrow, Matt (Jenn) Modrow; step children: Bruce (Chris) Lemon, Alan Lemon; grandchildren: Bryant, Collin, Connor, Brittin Modrow; Randee, Rebecca, Bruce Jr., Stephine, Anthony, Brady, Timothy (Kathryn) Lemon; great grandchildren: Jasmine Lemon, Michael Miller; siblings: Cindy (Mike) Charbonneau, Kathy Reiwe; mother-in-law: Laverne Rude; brothers-in-law: Lynn, Steve (Cindy), Mark (Jeannie) Rude; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dan and Regina Modrow; son: Adam Modrow; and granddaughter: Tiffany Lemon.
