Kevin J. Evans, 56, Vergas, MN, died, in a car wreck, Thursday, July 17 near Vergas. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, July 23, at the Perham Living Chapel in Perham, MN, Reverend Bert Holmquist, officiating. Interment will be in the Vesta Cemetery, Tecumseh, NE.
There will be a gathering time beginning 1 hour prior to the service at the Perham Living Chapel on Wednesday.
Kevin James Evans was born July 27, 1957 in Johnson County near Tecumseh, Nebraska. He is a 1975 graduate of Lincoln North East High School in Lincoln, NE and then attended Milford Technical School in Milford, NE. He worked for the state of Nebraska in the Highway Department Safety Lab. Kevin moved to Vergas, MN in 1991 where he cared for his parents.
Kevin enjoyed fishing, playing cards with his nephews and with his mother's friends at Perham Living, watching old movies, especially the Beverly Hillbillies, the Three Stooges and Red Skelton, and his involvement with the Basswood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret Evans of Perham (Vergas), MN, a sister, Kay (Rod) Cushing of Havre de Grace, MD, 3 nephews, George (Samantha) Cushing of Gates, NC, Joshua (Kat) Cushing of Madera, CA, Caleb (Gina) Cushing of Bremerton, WA, 4 great nieces and nephews, Marissa, James, Morgan and Everett and fishing buddy, Clayton Cossette of Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his Dad, Jim, in 2008.
