Joyce Brune

Joyce Brune, age 62, of Frazee, MN, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND, surrounded by her loving family.  A memorial service will take place at 7 PM, Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee with visitation to begin at 5 PM.

Joyce Marlene Hanson was born April 23, 1955 in Wadena, Minnesota.  Her parents were Joe and Vivian Hanson.  She died on April 7, 2018 at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Joyce was united in marriage to James Harold Brune on November 28, 1973. Jim & Joyce resided in rural Frazee for over 40 years.  Joyce was a homemaker and mother of two sons. She loved both families and all family gatherings.

Her greatest pleasures was all of her flower gardens and feeding the birds. She loved every flower that God put on this earth. Also, so special to Joyce was the dogs. Her favorites were Tiny, Fuzzball and Zero. And now we have BB.

Also Jim & Joyce grew the biggest vegetable garden and gave to anyone that wanted. The biggest thing was the squash. She didn’t like them. And if anyone needed a chocolate chip cookie, they knew to stop and see Joyce, best cookies ever.

Joyce is survived by her husband, James; 2 sons: Anthony (Laura) Brune and Timothy (Stephenie) Brune; 5 grandchildren: Miriah, Dylan, Hailey, Tatum and Fredrick; 4 siblings: Darold (Jody) Hanson, Jean Churchill, Joan (Don) Thomas and David Germann; and several nieces and nephews; In-laws: Sharon Strom, Debra (James) Scott, John (Lorraine) Brune, Ray (Chris) Brune, Nancy (Lloyd-Bub) Erickson, Patrick (Heidi) Brune and Cathy (Justin) Osterman; along with several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Vivian Hanson; sister: Judy; brothers: Billy and Dan Hanson; brothers-in-law: Ray Churchill, Dennis Brune, Edward Brune, Allen Strom; mother & father-in-law: Fredrick and LaVaun Brune.

Joyce was and now is a ray of sunshine overlooking a field of wildflowers and all the birds are singing like angels. She’ll be truly missed.
