Joel David Marquardt

Joel Marquardt, 59, of Detroit Lakes, MN died on Thursday, August 9, 2023 at Essentia Health – Oak Crossing with his mother by his side.

Joel David was born on March 13, 1964, the son of Gerald and Gail (Sprouls) Marquardt in Perham, MN. He grew up in the area and attended Perham High School until his sophomore year when he was in a motorcycle accident. He moved into the Oak Crossing Nursing Home at age 15 and got the best care he could’ve received by his mom.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald and a brother, Jeff.

Joel is survived by his mother, Gail, brother, Jody (Sherry) and many nieces and nephews: Tiffany Solano and her son, Eli, McKane (Kayla), Colten (Amy), Abbas, Patricia, and Ashley.
