Herbert Clarence Wallace was born October 14, 1925, in Frazee, Minnesota, the son of Joseph and Freida (Shave) Wallace. He passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at home surrounded by family.
He grew up and attended school in Frazee. Herbert began working at young age cutting wood and later worked the mines in Bovey.
On October 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to Betty Selck at United Methodist Church in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Aurora, Minnesota, before returning to Frazee/Detroit Lakes area.
Herbert worked as a heavy equipment operator in both road and water-sewer construction.
He enjoyed dancing, ice fishing, playing cards, and going to the casino.
Herbert is survived by his children: Bill Wallace of Ada; Julie Flath of New York Mills; Susan Sellers of Detroit Lakes; Cindy (Ed) Keen of Detroit Lakes; Lori (Larry ) Ziegler of Alexandria; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother: Everett Wallace; sister: May Gallagher.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Freida Wallace; wife: Betty Wallace in 2002; sons-in-law: Roger Flath and Vernon Sellers; brothers: Marvin, Melvin and Jim; sister: Adeline Shamp.
Public Visitation following Covid guidelines: Friday, October 2, 2020 from 5-7pm at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, MN.
Private Burial for family: Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Perham City Cemetery
