Henrietta M. "Hattie" Laasch, 91, Frazee, MN, died Saturday at the Frazee Care Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Reverend William Aufdenkamp, officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Friends may call 4:00 - 8:00 with a prayer service at 7:30 PM Tuesday at Furey Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Hattie was born February 4, 1920 in rural Frazee, MN to Albert and Hulda (Schaefer) Wirth. She grew up in rural Frazee and attended country school through the 8th grade. She was united in marriage to Ervin Laasch on October 20, 1943 in Sisseton, South Dakota. The union was blessed with one son, Dale. The young couple made their home in Frazee. Hattie gained employment at Lakeland Turkey Plant and later at Swift Company. She also operated Laasch's Mobil Station and the Frazee Greyhound Bus Stop with her husband, Ervin for 20 years. Due to her husband's failing health, Hattie retired in 1982 to care for him.
Hattie enjoyed playing cards, taking day trips to the casino and visiting over a good cup of coffee. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Dale and his wife, Joan Laasch of South Yarmouth, MA; 2 sisters-in-law: Arlice Wirth and Velma Wirth, both of Frazee; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 7 siblings: Ida, Carl, Alfred, Rudolph "Joe", Edward, Elmer and Cecil.
