Floyd Sandau, age 83, formerly of Vergas, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, at the Frazee Care Center.
Floyd Edward Sandau was born November 8, 1934, in Frazee, MN, the son of Edward and Elsie (Bischoff) Sandau.
He grew up in the Vergas area and graduated from Frazee High School in 1952. Floyd proudly served his country in the U.S. Army receiving his honorable discharge in 1954. Floyd worked as a carpenter in the Vergas area and in his retirement years worked part time for Alfred Kading.
Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with friends. He especially enjoyed catching up on current affairs and local happenings at Billy’s corner bar in Vergas.
He is survived by his nephews and niece: Keith Sandau of Vergas; Lance Sandau of Fergus Falls; Michael (Kay) Sandau of Spicer; and Michelle (Nick) Torberg of Eagen; sister-in-law: Ester Sandau of Alexandria.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Elsie Sandau; brothers: Elmer, Elden, and Marvin Sandau.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vergas. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.
