On Friday, December 27, 2019, Eugene Arthur Miller, loving husband, father of two, grandfather of eight, and great-grandfather of one passed away at the age of 67. Eugene was born on April 18, 1952 in Paddock Minnesota to Arthur and Eleanor Miller. He was a Frazee High School graduate and he worked as a supervisor for Team Industries. On August 26, 1978, he married the love of his life Mary Ann Retz. They raised together a son Troy, and a daughter Tanya.
Eugene was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He treasured his children and especially loved his role as papa. He had a witty personality and always made those around him laugh. He made friends everywhere he went because he took the time to talk with people. He made everyone feel like they mattered no matter how down and out they were.
Unless you knew him before his health took its toll his last few years you really can’t understand how sad this is. He was one of the strongest men around. For years he always got back up after he was knocked down. Thirteen heart attacks never stopped him from getting back up. He wasn’t afraid of anyone or anything. His strength and determination was abundantly clear to everyone who knew and loved him.
Until his health made it impossible, he loved to golf, fish, hunt, travel, and anything that involved being with his family. One of his fondest memories was from the summer of 2017. He watched his grandson Mason catch a fish while out on the lake in his boat. Even though his health did not permit him to fish as well, it was one of his proudest moments watching his grandchildren do something he had loved to do. If there is one thing everyone who knew him knows, it’s that he loved his family fiercely.
Eugene is survived by his wife Mary Miller; son Troy Miller; daughter Tanya Miller; grandsons Anthony Schwoboda, Keigen Swan, Rodney Schwoboda, Mason Miller, and Edison Miller; granddaughters Jera Miller, Makayla Weiers, and Eleanor Miller; and one great-granddaughter Anastasia Schwoboda. He is also survived by his brothers Robert Miller, and John Miller; and sisters Elaine Palmer, and MaryAnn Ueke.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to grab a Pepsi and share it with someone you love. He would have wanted that.
