Edna Mae (Bruhn) Turgeon, age 92 passed away on August 5, 2014 at Perham Living in Perham, MN. Edna was the oldest of seven children, born at home on August 12, 1921 to John and Henrietta (Antonsen) Bruhn. They made their home in Vergas, MN.
Funeral services for Edna will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, MN, with Reverend Ray Sherwood officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be made at Lake Sybil Cemetery, Vergas, MN. Lunch will be served at the Sybil Rob and Gun Club following the burial service.
Edna graduated in 1941 from Frazee High School. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis. She was employed with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
Edna married Thomas Gabriel Turgeon on May 14, 1949. Edna and Tom raised three children: Marie, John and Brian. In 1974 she returned to work at Woolworth's Restaurant in downtown Minneapolis.
Tom and Edna lived in Minneapolis until they retired to Vergas in 1980. Tom passed away on August 29, 2001.
Tom and Edna enjoyed dancing, feeding the birds and being with family.
Edna is survived by one daughter, Marie Turgeon of Vergas, MN; two sons, John (Jan) Turgeon of Perham, MN; Brian (Lori) Turgeon of Coon Rapids, MN, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Edna is also survived by her sister Lillian Cady of Pine City, MN and one brother, Donald (Fern) Bruhn of Detroit Lakes, MN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Edna in death were her parents; her husband Thomas; three sisters, Rosemond Bruhn, Mildred Sandau and Marlys Berven; and one brother, Roy Bruhn. Also preceding Edna were three brother-in-laws; Calvin Berven, Donald Cady and Marvin Sandau, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Bruhn.
