Edith Dretsch

Edith K. Dretsch, age 89, Frazee, MN, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, MN.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, Reverend John Beck, officiating. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 14 at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee and at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Edith Katherine Dretsch was born January 23, 1928 in Frazee, MN, to John Saxon and Hazel (Harris) Graham. She attended grade school at District 75 country school and is a 1945 graduate of Frazee High School. Edith was united in marriage to LeRoy Dretsch, January 31, 1949 in Frazee at the Lutheran Parsonage.

She worked at Lakeland Turkey Plant in Frazee in her early years. She was then the Activities Director at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes 1970 – 1988. Following a back injury in January 1988, she could no longer work. Edith was also instrumental in starting the Emmanuel Gift Shop.

She was very friendly and likable, had a great sense of humor and never liked to say anything bad about anyone. She is a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed gardening, loved her pets, her children and grandchildren dearly.

Edith is survived by 3 sons: Donald (Bonnie) Dretsch of Marshall, MN; Rodney (Margie) Dretsch of Rochester, MN; Alan Dretsch of Frazee, MN; 2 daughters: Marie Dretsch of Frazee, MN and Lori Dretsch of Fargo, ND; 4 grandchildren: Tori (Brian) Harbeke, Kyle, Will and Justin (Sarah) Dretsch; 5 Great Grandchildren; 1 sister, Marie Moench of Farmington, MN; and 1 brother, Paul Graham of West Fargo, ND; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy in 1970; 2 brothers: Donald "Paddy" and John Wilbur Graham; 1 sister, Lavone Evans and 2 granddaughters.
