Dennis was born February 17, 1948, in Fargo, ND, to Waldo and Delores (Krabbenhoft) Klug of Glyndon, MN. He was raised in Glyndon graduating from Glyndon High School in 1966. He worked in Chicago, IL, for the airlines for a short time, eventually moving back to Glyndon to work. There he met and married Eileen Ludwig of Hillsboro, ND. They had a short courtship, getting engaged on their second date and were married 4 months later.
He drove semi for many years; working for IT, Transystems, Gilbert Osmundson and others until he bought his own semi, which had been a dream of his in his younger years. The couple lived in Glyndon, MN, for 23 years before moving to their current hobby farm in Frazee, MN. Dennis was a very smart business man being able to calculate numbers in his head without writing them down anywhere. He loved nature, fishing and hunting, which he continued to do until back and hip problems didn't allow him to endure that much walking. He loved to sit by the campfire or his homemade barbeque pit and enjoy the tranquility of God's creatures talking to him and enjoying the stars and peace and quiet of the night. Dennis had a strong, but soft heart. He loved working with genetics in just about anything including animals and vegetables among other things. He was very proud of his vegetable gardens and always tried raising something different.
Dennis and Eileen had just bought their dream lake lot on a bay ascending into Island Lake and were in the process of building their simple, but beautiful house there. He passed away doing what he loved, working on something and playing Texas Hold'em on the computer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him including his in-house cats: Blizzard, Snickerdoodle and Rustie.
He is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Eileen Klug; sons: Peter (Shannon) of Ottertail, MN and Kevin of Frazee, MN; 1 grandson, Peter Milburn of Ottertail, MN; and 1 great granddaughter, Rhowan Smith of Perham, MN. He is also survived by 3 sisters: Gail Klug of Moorhead, MN, Diane (Steven) Bakken of Pelican Rapids, MN, and Wendy (Terry) Slattery of Bloomington, MN; 1 brother, Richard (Cathy) Klug of Sabin, MN; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws.
