Delores Mayfield

Delores L. Mayfield, age 81, of Frazee, MN, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at St. Mary’s Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes, MN.

A celebration of Delores’s life will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee, MN with visitation Sunday, May 22nd, 2016 from 4-7:30 p.m., prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be held Monday May 23rd, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, MN with interment at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Delores Laura Ellenberg was born April 20th, 1935 to Fred and Alvina Ellenberg in Perham, MN. Delores was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gorman Township on May 12th, 1935 and confirmed on May 22nd, 1949. She grew up in Perham, MN, where she attended Perham High School, then later attended vocational school. Following her schooling she worked many jobs including: helping on the family farm, Swifts Turkey Plant, retail, hardware, utilities clerk, grocery demos, paraprofessional for Anderson Bus Company, and more.

On September 26th, 1954 she married Calvin Charles Mayfield of Frazee, MN where they raised eight children: Tuttie, Calvin Jr., Sue, Bill, Bob, Dennis, John, and Randy.

Delores loved being out in her garden, bird watching on the back deck, and reading. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family; especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Delores is survived by spouse Calvin Mayfield of 61 years; and children: Tuttie (Jon) Davis, Calvin Jr. (Kathy) Mayfield, Sue Mayfield, Bill (Karen) Mayfield, Bob (Cindy) Mayfield all of Frazee, MN, Dennis (Carrie) Mayfield of Farmington, MN, John (Treva) Mayfield of Perham, MN, Randy (Mary) Mayfield of Frazee, MN; 23 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; brother, Eldred Ellenberg of Vergas, MN; brother-in-law, Ron (Shirley) Mayfield of Frazee, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her late parent’s, Fred and Alvina Ellenberg; stepbrother, George Ellenberg; and grandson, Jeremy Mayfield.
