Debra "Deb" Larson

Debra Kay Larson was born December 11, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Jim and Violet (Gregg) Uhl. She passed away June 4, 2019, age 62, at Perham Health.

Deb grew up and attended school in Sioux City before moving to the Dent area. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School with the class of 1975.

On October 18, 1975, she was united in marriage to Duane Larson at Faith Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. To this union three children were born. They made their home in Pelican Rapids, and Cheyenne, Wyoming before returning to Vergas in 1989.

She worked in health care for a short time before embarking on a career in children’s ministry. Deb received her AFCM certificate and continued to carry out many different roles at Lakes Area Word Fellowship Church in Vergas; serving as Church Secretary for the last 17 years and involved with Children’s Church for 29 years.

Deb enjoyed flowers, gardening, spending time with family and just being a grandma. She also was known for her baking and cooking and took pride in making sure no one ever left her kitchen hungry.

She is survived by her husband: Duane Larson of Vergas; children: Paula (Mike) Black of Wadena; Jodi Larson of Detroit Lakes; Rob (Emily) Larson of Detroit Lakes; grandchildren: Ethan, Emma, Wyatt, Chloe, David, Rylan, Layton, Cadyn, Bella, Izzy; mother: Irene Uhl of Vergas; siblings: Greg (Christine) Uhl of Eagan; Kelly (Brian) Ament of Vergas; Calvin (Christine) Uhl of Osakis; Julie (Corey) Omvig of Lake Park; Joyce Dye of Arizona; BJ (Chastity) Morris of Oklahoma.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents: Jim Uhl and Violet Morris; and a sister in infancy: Donna Rose.

Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM held at Lakes Area Word Fellowship in Vergas, MN. Visitation held one hour prior to service.
