Dean Drewes

Dean Allyn Drewes was born December 25, 1958, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, the son of Delbert of Delores (Fiedler) Drewes. He passed away February 22, 2021, at his home near Perham.

He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee. Dean grew up and attended school graduating from Frazee High School. On June 27, 1981, Dean was united in marriage to Wanda Ziegler at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Perham. To this union two children were born. They lived in Coon Rapids where Dean worked in construction. In 1998, they moved back to the Frazee area and started Up North Construction.

Dean loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. He was an active member of the MDHA (Minnesota Deer Hunters Association). He also enjoyed spending time on his pontoon, visiting the neighborhood in his side by side, and cheering for the Vikings. He adored his grandkids who loved going on adventures with “Grandpa Dean.”  He was charismatic and had a passion for life and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife: Wanda Drewes; son: Tyler (Amy) Drewes; daughter: Stacey (Todd) Hummel; grandchildren: Hailey, Evelyn, Hudson, Lilia, Ethan, Eleanor; sisters: Dawn (Ron) Zitzow, Danita (Kraig) Ketter, Deanne (Les) Roerick; and several nieces and nephews.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents: Delbert and Delores Drewes.

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2021 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee with a visitation 2-hours prior at the church.
