Charlotte "Sherry" E. Montella, 84, resident of Perham, died Saturday, January 11 at Perham Living surrounded by her loving family.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 17 at 2PM in Perham Living Chapel-Nursing Home.
Sherry was born November 9, 1929 in Parker, SD to Ray and Dorothy (Hewitt) Rothwell. She graduated from Pine River, MN. On March 5, 1955, Sherry was united in marriage to Anthony Montella Jr. in Coeur D'Alene, ID. They later moved to West Warwick, RI where they started their family of two children: Linda and Clayton. In 1977, they moved to Vergas, MN. Sherry enjoyed writing stories and poems, baking, lake activities, sewing, playing cards, racing and spending quality time with her family.
Sherry is survived by her husband Anthony "Tony" Montella of Perham, MN, two children: Linda (Dino) Thompson and Clayton Montella (Maria Jewell) both of Vergas, MN, six grandchildren: Randin Olson of Ottertail, MN, Kayla Klatt (Tyler Hilde) of Detroit Lakes, MN, Satera Montella (James Harlow) of Perham, MN, D'Artagnan Montella of Ottertail, MN, Hope Jewell of Vergas, MN and Pennguan Nhial of Perham, MN. Three great-grandchildren: Alexis and Jaelyn Hilde and Addysyn Harlow. In addition she is survived by one sister: Joyce Wilson of Fergus Falls, MN, three brothers: Dave (Betty) Rothwell of Forsyth, MT, Forest (Cheryl) Rothwell of Ironton, MN and Kurt (Michelle) Rothwell of Chula Vista, CA along with special relatives Sheila Beal of Waterloo, IA, Helga Gallant of West Springfield, MA, John Rehborg (Ginny Wilkin) of Vergas, MN and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
