Charles "Chuck" Boyer

Charles William "Chuck" Boyer, age 81, of rural Frazee, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Frazee Care Center in Frazee, MN.

Chuck was born at home in Straight River Township on January 10, 1943, a son of the late William "Bill" and Cora (Engh) Boyer. He attended country school and later Park Rapids High School where he graduated in 1961. In 1964, he was drafted to the Army where he served for 2 years. Chuck moved to Seattle in 1967 where he worked for Boeing. On December 28, 1968, Chuck married Karen (Johnson) and they made their home in Seattle. In 1972, they moved back home to Minnesota to pursue his dream of being a dairy farmer. They bought the farm just 4 north of Frazee in 1973 where Chuck and Karen dairy farmed for the next 24 years. They sold the cows in 1997 and Chuck worked at Lake Shirts until retirement. Chuck was happiest when caring for his cows and farming the land. While farming Chuck fulfilled his passion for the dairy industry by being involved in various boards such as the American Dairy Association, Lake Park Coop, Frazee Feed Store Coop, and Mid-America Dairymen.

Chuck is survived by his wife Karen of 56 years. His daughter's; Debbie (Floyd) Phillips, Oneida, TN, Kristine (Mark) Spadgenske, Menahga, MN, and Kimberly (Andrew) Tapper, Monticello, MN, and son’s Scott (Tabitha) Boyer and Aaron (Sarah) Boyer both of Frazee, MN. He also leaves his grandchildren: Eric (Brittney) Philips, Adrianne Phillips, Ryan (Jen), Kate, Adam and Seth Spadgenske; Nissa, Coen, Brolle, Linne'a and Soren Tapper; William, Caleb, and Larissa “Punkin” Boyer and Joshua and Madison Boyer, as well as a great grandson Cooper Phillips. He loved watching his grandchildren grow and being an active part of their lives. Chuck is also survived by his sister, Bette, (Jon) and brother, Rick (Peg), as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Chuck was proceeded in death by his parents, a sister, Janice, a brother Gary, and a brother in law, Vic. 

The family would like to send a special thanks to Hospice of the Red River Valley and the staff at Golden Manor and Frazee Care Center.

Per Chuck’s wishes there will be no funeral service, instead his ashes will be spread on his farmland at a later date.
