Carol A Brekke

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol A Brekke, who left us on June 9, 2024 at her home in Moorhead, MN. 

Carol was born on July 27, 1949, the daughter of William Olaus and Caroline Ann Brekke. As the 2nd youngest of six girls, she shared a special bond with her younger sister, Karen, affectionately known as Bunny. Their childhood in the countryside was filled with countless adventures that created lasting memories.

At the age of 18, Carol embarked on a new chapter in Fergus Falls, where she found fulfillment working at Productive Alternatives. It was during this time that she crossed paths with the love of her life, Floyd. Their love story was one for the ages, a tale of companionship and unwavering support.

Carol had a wide circle of friends whom she cherished dearly. Her love for humor shone through as she delighted in telling jokes and bringing smiles to those around her. She had a soft spot for animals and found solace in taking leisurely walks, connecting with nature's beauty.

An integral part of Carol's life her tradition of celebrating birthdays at Turkey Days in Frazee, MN. These moments spent among loved ones held a special place in her heart and brought her immense joy.

Carol is survived by three sisters: Margaret (Ron) Balvitsch, Gloria (Richard) Dorow, and Karen (Ross) Oie, brother-in-law, Mike Hofer, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her sisters: Shirley Manning and Lois Hofer; brothers-in-law: Ron Balvitish, Joseph Manning; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial for Carol to be held at 11:00AM, Friday, June 21, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with time of visitation one-hour prior. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery following the service.
