Caitlyn Grace Jepson was born in Perham, MN on October 4, 1999, and passed away unexpectedly in her home on December 16, 2024 at just 25 years old. She is survived by her fiancé Brandon Gray, her two cherished children Oliver and Vera, her parents DuWayne Sr. and Erin Jepson, her siblings DuWayne (Derek) James and Megan (Tom) Jepson Graten and her nieces and nephew Aubrey, Charlie, Millie Lori, Millie Jean, Emmie, and Eleanor. She is also survived by Brandon’s parents Missy and Aaron Gray whom she loved, along with Brandon’s entire family. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Donavon and LaVerna Jepson, Joyce Drake, and James Kusick, and her uncle Donavon Kusick.
Caitlyn was a true entrepreneur. She used her first business, Caitlyn Grace Photography, to capture special moments for so many people that will be treasured forever. She was a true artist and extraordinarily gifted photographer.
Able to see potential in unexpected places, she, Brandon and her Dad, built her Lovely Lemon lemonade trailer, which she took to many local events. Serving smiles and refreshments, she built it into another successful business.
She co-owned, with her mom and Sister, the historic Baer Building in downtown Frazee. She was excited to open her own specialty boutique called Mercantile 1898 so she could bring her wide-ranging talents and interests to the community, including candles, fragrances, and items from her newest venture, Lulu’s Hat Shop.
She was a staunch supporter of women-owned businesses.
Caitlyn was also a lifetime member of the Wolf Lake/New York Mills VFW Auxiliary.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Caitlyn taught herself new skills with determination and creativity. Whether by working alongside her family or tackling her own projects. She was unafraid to pursue her dreams, and brought a sense of adventure and resourcefulness to everything she did. Self-described as “spicy,” Caitlyn’s personality was a vibrant mix of forthrightness and humor. She had a knack for speaking her mind in such a way that left people laughing yet feeling seen and loved. Caitlyn was deeply kind and loving. Nowhere was this more evident than in the way she adored Oliver, Vera, and Brandon. Fiercely proud and protective, she poured her whole heart into the ones she loved.
