The funeral services for Bonnie Kay Beaman, 50, Vergas, MN, will be Thursday, April 9, 2009, 11 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Loon Lake, rural Vergas, MN, with Reverend Robert Hinckley officiating. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled at St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Loon Lake on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, from 4-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m., and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Bonnie died at her home near Vergas on April 5, 2009.
Bonnie Kay Schermerhorn was born on May 11, 1958 in Perham, MN to Allen and Elaine (Stebbins) Schermerhorn. She grew up in rural Vergas on a farm, attended school in Perham, MN and graduated from Perham High School. On June 3, 1978, she was married at the United Methodist Church in Dent, MN and was married for 23 years. Bonnie was a hardworking woman. Over the years she worked at Goodman's Grocery Store, owned a mink farm, did daycare, and most recently had her own cleaning business for the past several years. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Dent. She later became a member of St. Paul's Lutheran-Loon Lake. Bonnie loved animals and outdoor activities. She was a loving and dedicated mother and will be deeply missed by her children, family and friends.
Bonnie is survived by her two children, Natasha and Derick Beaman; her siblings, Larry (JoAnne) Schermerhorn, Eugene (Vicky) Schermerhorn, Nancy (Ronnie) Kratzke, Randy (Karla) Schermerhorn and Janelle (Neil) Dow; her mother Elaine Schermerhorn; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her father Allen Schermerhorn and nephew Craig Schermerhorn.
