Betty Holmer

Betty Marie Holmer was born April 10, 1941 in Frazee, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Mary (Flynn) Plackner. She passed away October 30, 2020 at the Frazee Care Center.

She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church and attended school in Frazee, graduating with the class of 1959.

On November 19, 1960, Betty was united in marriage to Robert Holmer at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee. To this union three children were born. They made their home near Evergreen, where Betty was a homemaker and farm wife, before working in housekeeping at the Frazee Care Center.

Betty was active in 4-H when the children were younger and served with the Ladies Aid of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Evergreen. She enjoyed bowling and collecting angels, bells, and cardinals.

She is survived by her children: Brenda Windahl of Hawley; Beth Breitenfeldt of Detroit Lakes; Robert Holmer, Jr. of Frazee; grandchildren: Brittany Windahl (Andrew Loewe) , Andy Breitenfeldt, Thann Breitenfeldt, Brady (Caitlin) Breitenfeldt; great grandchildren: Ariya, Aurora, Aston, Aikley, Arysen, Ambrose, Annabelle, Stetson, and Sterling; sister: Donna (Harry) Holmer; and other extended familiy and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Plackner, husband: Robert Holmer ; son-in-law: Wayne Windahl; grandson: Jeremey Windahl;  great granddaughter: Harlyn Breitenfeldt; sisters: Luverne Hanson and Sharon Ratz; brothers-in-law: Dick Hanson and Leo Ratz.
