Betty Amanda Glawe

June 26, 1926 — December 6, 2024

Betty Amanda Glawe, a beloved lifelong member of the Vergas community, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2024, at the Elim Heath Care Nursing Home in Fargo, North Dakota, at the age of 98. Born on June 26, 1926, to Emil and Erna (Zitzow) Rosentreter in their family home in Dora Township, Vergas. Betty married the love of her life, Raymond Glawe, on June 3, 1946, at parsonage St. Paul's Loon Lake Church in Vergas. She dedicated her life to her family, church and community.

Betty worked proudly at Vergas Creamery and later at Land O' Lakes in Perham until her retirement. Even after stepping back from her professional career, she remained actively engaged in the community. She was well-known for her volunteer work, especially with Little Lambs Preschool, and her contributions at St. John's Church, where she made a lasting impact on those around her.

Her personality shone brightly, earning her the affectionate title of "social butterfly." Betty loved connecting with others and was passionate about her community involvement. Her warm and inviting nature drew friends and family alike to her, and she cherished every opportunity to spend time with them.

An avid gardener, Betty found solace and joy in nurturing her flowers. She also enjoyed making her “Betties”, waltz and polka, singing, fishing, and watching baseball, passionately rooting for Minnesota sports teams. These hobbies enriched her life and were a testament to her spirited approach to living.

Betty leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughter, Lonnie Glawe of Fargo, North Dakota; her son, Leon (Tori) Glawe of Centennial, Colorado; and her four grandchildren: Timothy (Rose) Rohloff of North Elbow Lake, Minnesota, Stacey Scott of Port Hadlock, Washington, Melissa Glawe of Littleton, Colorado, and Anthony (Sarah) Glawe of Jackson, Wyoming. Two Great Grandchildren; “Joy of her life” August Rohloff and Kiana Glawe. She is also Survived by her brother, Ben Rosentreter Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, and her two sisters-in-law, Donna Rosentreter of Vergas, Minnesota, and Charlotte Buehler of Sunny Brook Nursing Home, Minnesota.

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, multiple siblings, along with many other cherished family members and friends.

Betty Amanda Glawe lived a life full of love, laughter, and service, and she will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Her legacy will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her remarkable journey.
