Arden was born March 21, 1927 to France and Agnes (Oberg) Anderson. He grew up and attended country school in Silver Leaf Township, Becker Co. and went on to attend Frazee High School, graduating with the class of 1945. Following his schooling, Arden began dairy farming in Frazee. Many will remember Arden always dressed in striped bib overalls when he was working the dairy farm.

He was united in marriage to Isabell (Jager) Schaefer on July 2, 1966. This union made their home on the dairy farm in Frazee where Arden graciously took on the task of fathering Bell's 6 children.

During his younger years, Arden enjoyed bowling, fishing with his children and grandchildren on the area lakes during the warm summer months, and the time he spent visiting with his family and friends. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed putting together puzzles or a good game of cards with his neighbors.
Arden's family would like to thank Dr. Kulasingham and the caring staff at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes for the loving care they took of Arden.

Arden is survived by his wife, Bell of Frazee; 6 children: Russell (Carol) Schaefer of Detroit Lakes, Ronald Schaefer of Elbow Lake, MN, Roger (Anita) Schaefer of Frazee, Robert Schaefer of Minneapolis, MN, Rachel (Bryan) Vinz of Centennial, CO, Randall Schaefer of Fargo, ND; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
