Alvin Schwarzrock

Alvin George Schwarzock, 80, of Frazee, MN passed away on May 4th, 2023 following an accident.

Alvin was born at home on November 4th, 1942 to Ernest and Lena (Weigelt) of Evergreen Township. He attended country school in Evergreen and graduated from Frazee High School in 1960. On June 11th, 1971, he married Marlys Bendlen at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Evergreen. Alvin purchased the family farm, raising dairy and beef cattle and crops. While farming he drove semi-trucks for Gabor Trucking for several years. He later worked for the MN Dept of Natural Resources, Forestry Division. Alvin gave 110% to each of his occupations. His anthem was to do your very best at every job, leaving things better than you found them. His occupations cannot describe how amazing and unique he was. He was an innovator and was constantly seeking knowledge. He helped anyone who needed help, and he lived the Golden Rule. He was happy when he was teaching, and was the go-to person for many for his sage advice.

Alvin is likely known best for being a friend. His nature was to avoid conflict, and a love of laughter endeared him to everyone he met. He was a kind and generous person and was dedicated to his family. He also was dedicated to the FFA, Civil Air Patrol and reforestation. He was a storyteller and jokester. No one will ever compare to this most kind and loving man.

Missing him are his children - Shurnell (Daniel) Wendt, Detroit Lakes; Chuck (Mary) Lepisto, Evergreen; Dawnita (Michael) Gallo, West Fargo; and Lynae (Dan) Johnson, Evergreen as well as his sisters Erma Stephenson, Lena Golden and LaVerna Jepson. Also missing their Gramps are dozens of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Marlys on October 19th, 2022, his parents, and siblings Lorraine, Ed, Arvilla and Ernie.

Fly high Dad - it’s “see you later”, and not goodbye.

Evening visitation will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2023, starting with a prayer service at 4:30 PM followed by visitation time from 5-7:00 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Evergreen.
Visitation will continue from 10-11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.

Funeral service for Alvin will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 11, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Evergreen with Pastor Ed Borchardt officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery Evergreen.
