Agnes Wothe

Agnes Meta (Erdman) Wothe, age 95, of Frazee, MN, passed away peacefully, under the care of Red River Valley Hospice, on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids with her family by her side.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2016, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee with a prayer service to take place at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be made at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee.

Agnes was born February 2, 1921, at Embden, ND, to Julius and Ernestine (Kriegel) Erdman.

Agnes was united in marriage to Melvin Wothe on December 21, 1943, at Detroit, Michigan. Agnes worked at the Detroit Diamond Factory from 1940 to 1944. Melvin and Agnes then made their home in Frazee, MN, where Agnes worked at the Frazee-Vergas School in the cafeteria for seven years. She then worked at Artic Cat in Detroit Lakes for 3 years and at the Frazee Care Center in the dietary department for many years.

She was an active member of the Heart of Lakes Post #7702 Ladies Auxiliary, Bunker Hill Sewing Club, Bethlehem Lutheran L.W.M.L., and The White Pine Senior Citizens Card Club. Agnes enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing scrabble with her daughters and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and putting together puzzles with her friends at the Mill Pond Apartments and Pelican Rapids Assisted Living.

Agnes is survived by 4 children: Russell of Traverse City, MI, Susan (Jan) Kolle of Lakeville, MN, Carole (Paul) Johnson of Pelican Rapids, MN and Neil Wothe of Vergas, MN; 9 grandchildren: Christy (Luke) Kolle Nelson, Bradley Kolle, Luke (Jamie) Wothe, Katie Wothe (Jason Willie), Ty Wothe, Jonna (Davey III) Jopp, Kacy Wothe, Trudy Johnson and Andrew Johnson; 7 great grandchildren: Jack and Gabe Kolle Nelson, Dillen Wothe, Ethan and Heath Wothe and Penny and Davey IV Jopp; and 2 daughters-in-law: Kay Wothe and Julie Ingberg.

Preceding Agnes in death were her parents; husband, Melvin; 1 son, Ray; 2 grandsons: Heath and Nick; 4 sisters: Myrtle (Fred) McBride, Garda (Joe) Walker, Myrna (Doc) Davis and Erna (Bill) Luders; 4 brothers: Bob (Edna) Erdman, Bill Erdman, Erick (Beatrice) Erdman, and Oscar Erdman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pelican Valley Nursing Home and Red River Valley Hospice.
